Stages in the Approvals Process
- Lodgement:
The process whereby an application for a title is officially lodged by a client and received by the Department.
- Screening:
The application is formally considered and initially assessed by the Department and forwarded to the relevant agencies and/or Department Branches for assessment. In this stage an application may be rejected or placed “on hold” if there is a deficiency in the information provided.
- Assessment:
The application is referred on to the relevant authorities (internal or external) for specialised assessment
- Determination:
The application enters determination stage when all assessment of information has taken place. Results are collated and then forwarded to relevant General Managers, Directors or Executive Directors to accept or decline the application.
- Offer:
This stage is only used if the application type requires it. An offer is granted only if in determination stage the application is approved. The offer is only valid for a pre defined number of days.
- Finalisation:
Once the offer is accepted the relevant signatures are collected and the system is updated to reflect any changes. The applicant is then sent the formal paperwork relating to the issuing of the licence / title.
